The new 2GO-SMX Events Logistics setup centralizes permit facilitation and logistics support for exhibitors, organizers, suppliers, and contractors.
2GO has partnered with SMX Convention Center, Central Business Park, and SM Estates to establish 2GO-SMX Events Logistics, a centralized permit and logistics facilitation system for events within SMX Convention Center and the Mall of Asia Complex.
Formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding, the partnership is designed to simplify permit facilitation, improve operational efficiency, and support the movement of exhibit materials, event equipment, and deliveries. The setup gives organizers, exhibitors, suppliers, and service providers a more coordinated way to manage logistics before, during, and after events.
One point of contact for permits and logistics
Under the agreement, 2GO will facilitate permit applications on behalf of contractors, coordinate endorsements with SM Estates, process submissions with Central Business Park, and provide logistics support throughout ingress, event operations, and pull-out activities within SMX.
The arrangement is intended to consolidate what can otherwise be a fragmented process involving multiple offices and requirements. By giving event stakeholders a single point of coordination, the system is expected to reduce administrative work and help cargo and equipment move more efficiently.
“Through this partnership, we are consolidating permit processing as an integrated end-to-end solution and a single point of contact for permit processing,” said Faye Alonzo, 2GO Forwarding business unit head. “This enables exhibitors and organizers to move cargo more efficiently and with greater confidence.”
SMX focuses on smoother venue operations
For SMX Convention Center, the partnership supports a more structured approach to venue logistics.
“By aligning our expertise and resources, we are creating a more seamless and efficient framework for our venue logistics,” said Walid Wafik, senior vice president for operations of SM Hotels and Conventions Corporation. “This reinforces our dedication to delivering world-class experiences supported by efficient operational systems.”
The one-stop model is also intended to help ensure that permit processing remains aligned with estate and operational requirements while making coordination easier for event stakeholders.
CBP retains regulatory authority
SM Estates will continue to handle permit review and endorsement, while Central Business Park remains the regulatory authority for permits, applications, vehicle access, and related fees.
“For SM Estates, this collaboration is key to permit review and endorsement,” said Jessel Kabigting, senior vice president for development and management of SM Estates. “Closer coordination with our partners will enable a faster and more simplified process.”
CBP president Erickberth Calupe likewise emphasized that the partnership does not change CBP’s regulatory role, but instead creates a more coordinated way for stakeholders to work through the process.
Supporting more efficient event operations
The agreement reflects a broader effort to make event logistics more predictable, particularly for large exhibitions and conventions where multiple contractors, deliveries, and vehicle movements need to be coordinated within limited setup and pull-out windows.
For organizers and exhibitors, the practical benefit is a more integrated system for handling permits and logistics in the same operating environment. For 2GO, it extends its forwarding and project logistics services deeper into the events sector.
