The BYD Sealion 5 DM-i taxi fleet has entered service in the Cordillera region, with BYD Cars Philippines, a subsidiary of ACMobility, and dealer partner SEAelectric deploying 20 units to the Highland Transport Service Cooperative (HTSC). The deployment marks the country’s first taxi fleet using the Sealion 5 DM-i and supports transport modernization in La Trinidad, Benguet.

The new fleet is part of HTSC’s ongoing re-fleeting program and is expected to help reduce operating costs while providing passengers with a quieter, more comfortable, and more efficient commuting experience.

The deployment reflects growing interest in electrified fleet solutions for public transport while demonstrating how plug-in hybrid technology can support transport operators seeking lower operating costs and improved efficiency without compromising everyday usability.
