Grab Philippines is making electric vehicle ownership more practical for taxi and TNVS driver-partners through new partnerships with ACMobility and EVOxCharge, expanding charging access while helping reduce operating costs. The initiative gives GrabTaxi Electric and GrabCar Electric operators access to a combined network of more than 600 charging points nationwide at preferential rates, with charging costs reduced by up to 45%.
Lowering barriers to EV adoption
The partnerships are designed to address two of the biggest hurdles facing commercial EV adoption: charging availability and charging costs. According to Grab, the preferential rates further improve the economics of operating electric vehicles, complementing reports from EV operators indicating that operating costs can be roughly 75% to 87% lower per kilometer than those of comparable internal combustion engine vehicles.

Integrated charging and fleet management
Under the partnership with ACMobility, driver-partners gain access to ChargeFleet, a digital fleet management platform that helps operators manage charging credits, simplify driver shift changes, and improve vehicle utilization. ChargeFleet is integrated into the Evro app, enabling drivers to locate more than 500 ACMobility charging points at fuel stations, malls, hotels, retail establishments, office buildings, and residential developments. The app also displays charging stations accredited by the Department of Energy, making it easier for EV owners to plan their charging sessions.
Meanwhile, EVOxCharge operates a growing network of more than 130 charging points, including its flagship charging hub at TDG InHub in Taguig and strategic locations at SM and S&R. Its xCharge+ platform also provides fleet management tools to streamline daily charging operations for commercial fleets.
To access the preferential charging rates, GrabTaxi Electric and GrabCar Electric operators and driver-partners simply need to register the email address associated with their Evro or xCharge+ account to be included in the program.
Supporting a broader EV ecosystem
Carla Buencamino, head of Mobility Infrastructure at ACMobility, said ChargeFleet is designed to simplify EV fleet operations, reduce costs, and support the drivers who keep cities moving.
Derrick Tolentino, vice president and general manager of EVOxCharge, said the company’s experience supporting high-demand commercial fleets has provided valuable insights into delivering reliable, cost-effective charging solutions for professional drivers.
The charging partnerships form part of Grab’s EcoDrive program, a broader initiative to make fleet electrification commercially viable by addressing vehicle access, financing, operating costs, and charging infrastructure. The program is expected to benefit Grab’s partner operators and drivers across all cities where Grab, ACMobility, and EVOxCharge have operations.

The initiative also supports the objectives of the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act (EVIDA), which promotes wider EV adoption and the expansion of supporting infrastructure across the Philippines. Grab said it will continue working with charging providers, vehicle manufacturers, financial institutions, and government partners to further strengthen the country’s electric mobility ecosystem.
