The Volkswagen Beetle, conspicuously absent from the Philippine market for far too long, has finally returned. The iconic vehicle that has such a special place in many Filipino hearts is back, and it has done a little growing up. The New Beetle now sports a more aggressive, sportier look, while keeping the same general Beetle shape we have all come to know and love–even though the engine is in a different place.
In a launch that looked at the bug as it grew through the decades. From its beginnings as a car for the everyman, to the vehicle that gave the brand instant recognition, the VW Beetle has been a part of the Philippine Automotive scene for so long, it’s about time it came back.
Two VW Beetles are now being offered for pre-order: The 1.4L, Twincharged Fuel-injected seven-speed Automatic transmission variant, and the 1.2L Turbo Fuel-injected six-speed Manual Transmission model. Both variants offer electromechanical speed-sensitive power steering, front MacPherson Strut suspension with Stabilizer and rear four-link suspension with Stabilizer, as well as front and rear disc brakes.
