Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) is bringing the thrill of the race to Clark International Speedway on 12 October 2013 with 12 competing teams to kick off the very first Vios Cup one-make race.

A grassroots competition initiated by TMP, the Vios Cup is open for every hopeful racers and motorsports enthusiast to feel the speed of the racing circuit in a true Waku-Doki style, a Japanese term for feeling adrenaline rush.

As a prelude to the Toyota PH motorsports engagement in 2014, the inaugural exhibition race in October 12 will be comprised of non-professional racing participants such as various motoring journalists and celebrities namely Rhian Ramos, Phoemela Baranda, Aljur Abrenica, Fabio Ide and Jinno Rufino.

“The Vios Cup exhibition race on October 12 will be the “jumpstarting point” or a prelude to TMP’s grand plans next year for motorsports in the Philippines.  It will be initially participated by some of our friends from the media and several of the country’s most popular celebrities whom we will be officially introducing later on.  We have planned this to become more of a motorsports festival which will not only have cars racing around the track but also a fun-filled family event with several side activities for everyone to enjoy,” President of Toyota Motor Philippines, Michinobu Sugata said.

The whole-day racing event will also feature performances from the Oktaves and Spongecola. Other activities are Toyota Car Shows, Driving Exhibitions, Car Club Track Gatherings, and Kiddie activities. The event is open to public with no entrance fee.
