Valentino Rossi and Maverick Vinales return to Manila, and this time they took the time to see a bit of Manila by riding the LRT. Yamaha Motor Philippines Inc. (YMPH) partnered with the Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRT) for the Yamaha Monumento Station. It was a first for the brand who also had its own signature train which showed off designs of its latest campaign “We Are MIO.”
The event started with a short ride from the Roosevelt station bound for the Yamaha Monumento Station. Part of the launch ceremony was the unveiling of the Yamaha Star and signed standees of Vinales and Rossi.
The 10th Avenue in Caloocan which is a hub for all things motorcycle was peppered with festive ornaments to celebrate the arrival of the riders. It was filled with eager motorcycle enthusiasts eager to see their idols.
As Rossi and Vinales took the stage an explosion of confetti, flashing lights, and cheers engulfed the entire avenue. The racing royals were given the time to meet their Filipino fans as well as answer questions from Yamaha Club members. As a continuation of their support in the cultivation of racing in the Philippines, they awarded medals to the 12 qualifying riders for the Yamaha Grand Prix.
An art contest presented an opportunity for the fans to show their love for the riders with the top 3 designs recognized on stage. Rossi and Vinales also gave away signed shirts to lucky online contestants and signed helmets and other items from those in the crowd.
The racing champs were also guests of honor at the ‘Be Unstoppable’ 2018 Dealers Convention in Seda Hotel. As icons for Global Racing Excellence and the faces of the ‘Blu is Fast’ Campaign, they were living testaments of the excellent performance of Yamaha motorcycles.
What’s next for Valentino Rossi and Maverick Vinales? The two will focus on the MotoGP season bringing with them the motivation brought by the passion of their Filipino Fans.
