Why Elecom Tech Backpacks are perfect for digital junkies

    0

Manila, Philippines – Digital savvies are always on the lookout for tools that allow them to better keep up with today’s fast-paced, dynamic lifestyle. But aside from having the latest gadgets, digital junkies should also be armed with storage solutions that keep their devices protected at all times. And this is where Elecom, an international brand featuring innovative Japanese technology, rises to the rescue with  Elecom Tech Backpacks, which enable digital savvies to pack in tech and daily essentials for their daily hustles.

Here are some ways Elecom Tech Backpacks enrich digital junkies’ lives.

    1. All the essentials in a single bag. Students and young professionals alike can simultaneously bring their laptop along while keeping important monthly reports and class assignments clean and crease-free, thanks to the BM-BP04BPK Backpack’s two-chamber structure, which allows users to stash devices and documents separately.

Those who need to bring along laptops, documents, and even a tablet computer also won’t go wrong with the BM-B03BK’s three-chamber structure, which offers even more storage space.

    1. Easy organization. Elecom Tech Backpacks are thoughtfully designed with smaller interior and front pockets for small, bulky, or odd-shaped devices. Users can also easily and comfortably store and access essentials such as notebooks, planners, wallets, cords, and tech paraphernalia through backpack front pockets.

Elecom Tech Backpacks allow users to stay more organized and ready, even when on the go. Pull out a notebook as soon as an idea strikes, or quickly access your earphones for easy listening whenever, wherever!

    1. Safe and snug. Worried about devices jostling around inside a bag when on the move? Elecom Tech Backpacks have the right protection solution—its laptop compartments and docks are made with innovative, high-quality materials that protect devices from scratches and shock caused by regular movement.

Elecom Tech Backpacks have cushioned compartments, which ensure laptops are tucked tightly even when users are brisk walking or on a bumpy car ride!

    1. Comfortable to carry around. Carrying devices while riding the MRT or power walking to the office won’t feel like a burden with Elecom Tech Backpacks, which are engineered for comfort. Both the BM-BP03BK and BM-BP04BK backpacks feature a chest belt, which help distribute weight evenly across the user’s body and prevent users from being bogged down with heavy loads for long periods.

The chest belt can also be adjusted to accommodate different body types for ultimate comfort!

    1. All-around protection. Aside from cushioning delicate electrical devices with smart structural design and innovative materials, Elecom Tech Backpacks also have waterproof pockets and a built-in rain cover conveniently contained in the bottom pocket. All it takes is one swift motion to cover the entire bag in waterproof material and protect all the essentials inside. As all-weather bags, Elecom Tech Backpacks are stylishly functional and help users accomplish their tasks in spite of unpredictable weather conditions.

    Gaming: World of Warcraft Legion

What makes a successful massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG)? For years, World of Warcraft has led the market and shows no signs of stopping. While some might gripe about having to pay the USD 15 a month to play the game, the lack of content, and other gameplay issues, it has stood the test of time—a staggering 12 years have passed since the first game (known to many players as Vanilla) and the current expansion. Many have come to challenge the game’s dominance on the MMORPG market, such as Star Wars: The Old Republic, Final Fantasy XIV, AION, Rift, Tera, and more. While some MMORPGs have managed to catch the long-standing franchise off-guard and siphon away some of its users, many keep returning to the game because of the brand and new content offerings.

World of Warcraft: Legion has sought to address several complaints from the player base regarding content and gameplay. Announced at last year’s Gamescom, a video game trade fair held in Cologne, Germany, the new setting of the expansion is the Broken Isles, which the Legion seeks to invade to establish their dominance over Azeroth. The new level cap is 110 and features five new zones: Azsuna, Val’sharah, Highmountain, Stormheim, and Suramar. Players will also be able to play as Demon Hunters, the new hero class in the game, if they have at least one level 70 character on the server they wish to play on. The Demon Hunter class only has two specializations: Havoc (DPS) and Vengeance (Tank), and has their own starting quest line in Mardum, The Shattered Abyss, where you start off at level 98. Dalaran is (once again) the main city.

As with previous expansions, many of the classes have been overhauled. One of my favorite changes to the game is that there are no more buffs, which players had to cast on the entire party to enhance their statistics. Previously, in a large group (over 20+ people), there was a lot of confusion as to who should cast which buffs. These have been baked into the character’s passive abilities instead. Another welcome addition to the game is that you can level in any zone you want and the enemies will scale with your level. There are also world quests that one can complete for gold, gear, and more.

There is a new feature for Mythic dungeons—the ability to take on Mythic+ dungeons. After the completion of a Mythic+0 (Level 1) dungeon, players can access the Mythic+1 difficulty. With each level, the health and damage of the bosses increases by 9 percent starting with the Mythic+1 difficulty. At Mythic+4, an Affix will be added, giving your party an additional disadvantage or the enemies an additional advantage. At Mythic+7, they will come in pairs, which means it is possible for the enemies to be given two advantages or your party to be given two disadvantages; at Mythic+10, all enemies will do significantly more damage and have significantly more health. If you complete a Mythic dungeon in time, you will get gear corresponding to their difficulty. If you fail to complete the Mythic dungeon on time, you will not only not get gear, but also have the keystone for that dungeon depleted. Although the highest known is Mythic+10, there is an achievement that requires the completion of Mythic+15; however, the highest possible limit has yet to be confirmed.

One of the major changes to the game is to the weapon system. Each class and specialization has their own weapon called an artifact weapon. One can gather currency to level this weapon, although it will take longer the further you progress into the weapon. To fully complete an artifact weapon will take three to four months according to some estimates, so unlocking the full powers of said weapon will require a lot of time spent. Artifact Power (AP) is gathered from completing quests, dungeons, raids, and looting items in the world. Each artifact weapon is unique to that specialization; you can get another artifact weapon as you are leveling for a different specialization for that class. For instance, if you want to be a healer and a tank, you will have to distribute AP to each artifact weapon separately. This forces the player to commit to a specialization, which is useful in raiding environments because one has to commit to playing that specialization well to defeat powerful bosses and acquire powerful gear.

Another major change is that each class has their own order hall. You can choose to develop this order hall to your own liking, and each is located in a different area. This is a greatly scaled down version of the garrison from Warlords of Draenor. It retains the ability to send followers on missions for rewards. Additionally, you can research new technologies for your class a la Civilization. You can even recruit NPCs to assist your followers on quests. If the success chance on a quest exceeds 100 percent, each percent over 100 percent gives you a chance to gain an additional reward. For instance, if you have a follower mission with a 130 percent success rate, you have an additional 30 percent chance to loot something extra, whether it is gold or AP.

For fans of transmogrification—that is, making your gear look like other gear you have acquired before—it has been revamped greatly. Upon acquisition of a piece of gear (and even gear you have acquired on that character before), you learn its transmogrification for later use. It is much like a dressing room, so you can mix and match your appearance to your own liking.

Player versus player (PvP) has also been massively revamped. Getting gear—a lengthy and painful process in previous expansions—is no longer required. Instead, it has been replaced with a “prestige” system that mirrors Call of Duty. PvP now has its own talent tree, with additional PvP abilities unlocking as you level up. Upon reaching Level 50, one gains a prestige level and gain rewards such as a title, a badge based on your prestige level, a faction pennant, a new appearance for your artifact weapon, and a mount and pet. New arenas have also been announced for those who seek glory in battling other players.

So far, it looks like Legion may be the most complex expansion of the World of Warcraft franchise,

allowing players to do practically anything while bored and fixing the mistakes that previous expansions have made. If anything, it signals the return of glory for the aging

An open office environment also spawns various external distraction, making it rather hard for workers to focus. Sony’s GTK-XB7

Ready to transform your home into the perfect party venue? Music is at a soul of every great party out there. With exciting beats and  powerful bass, people are bound to get their groove on and party like there’s no tomorrow. For that bombastic bass sound with 2 large woofers that feature a low frequency response, Sony’s GTK-XB7 Speakers pack enough power to achieve that club like experience.

Behind the speaker’s stunning sound quality is the brand’s Extra Bass technology merged with its DSP technology. To ensure that sound beats and vocals are still audible upon playback, the  technologies mentioned  intelligently process  frequencies according to the source, thus  preserving excellent audio quality. The result is powerful bass notes perfect for upbeat electronic dance tracks.

The speaker also allows a variety of customizations. Put vertically or on its side, the XB7 speaker is still able to produce exceptional stereo sound. Adding to this is its 3-way multi-color illumination. The line lights, flashing strobes, and speaker lights all pulse in sync to the music playing. For internal customization, there’s Sony’s SongPal mobile application to apply different sound effects.

For people who wish to bring their experience to a further level, the speakers also feature a speaker “add function” to link a second XB7 unit via Bluetooth. Additional features include convenient pairing via Bluetooth and NFC, USB charging, and AUX connections.

Online Car platform Carmudi Participates at the 7th ASEAN Automobile Safety Forum

    0

Aligned with its advocacy to promote road safety, leading car portal Carmudi recently joined the 7th Asean Automobile Safety Forum held at the Berjaya Makati Hotel. The event aims to tackle the region’s vehicle safety features and its effects on the market. Cholo Syquia, Chief Operating Officer of Carmudi Philippines joined notable officials from  ASEAN-New Car Assessment Program (NCAP), Automobile Association Philippines (AAP), as well as various stakeholders at the event.

Since Carmudi’s business engaged in online car buying and selling, the company presented technology’s role in influencing consumer use and purchasing behavior.

Syquia noted that the Philippines, on average, has 119M mobile phone subscriptions and Filipinos spend 3.5 hours on mobile, while 5.2 hours on desktop and tablet.

“The availability of online data increases general consumer awareness towards vehicle safety. Using technologies such as the internet, we may now educate both consumers and end-users towards both availability of safety features and its proper utilization,” said Syquia.

In a research made by Carmudi Global, it was revealed that the Asian region welcomed substantial amount of innovation towards vehicle safety features over the years.

“Over the past decade, the booming automotive industry in Asia has seen a considerable amount of change and innovation. In less than ten years, the process of car buying has been completely revolutionized, with ONLINE SEARCHING taking precedence over traditional methods,” explained Syquia.

Carmudi has been an active advocate for road safety. Late last year, Carmudi forged partnership with AAP and helped them in the reproduction of pamphlets of Republic Act 4136 (Land Transportation and Traffic Code) to educate more people about the said legislation. The company also held a Road Safety Caravan in Taguig City for STI-BGC students to educate them of the do’s and don’ts of the road.

Volvo Cars Partners with Google to Build Next Generation Connected Cars

Volvo Cars has announced a close partnership with Google to develop the next generation of its award-winning in-car infotainment and connectivity solution based on Android, offering access to a wide array of apps and services. It will launch on new Volvo models within two years.

The partnership promises to revolutionize how Volvo customers engage and interact with their cars. The large catalog of popular Android apps – developed by Google, Volvo, or third party app developers – will offer connected and predictive services in and around the car.

“We are making an important strategic step with the Google partnership. Google’s platform and services will enhance the user experience by enabling more personalization possibilities, while Android will offer increased flexibility from a development perspective,” said Henrik Green, senior vice president Research & Development at Volvo Car Group.

Volvo Cars’ partnership with Google reflects the ongoing convergence between the automotive and technology industries as cars become increasingly connected. Volvo believes smart partnerships are the future for the car industry. Using Android as the base operating system will increase speed and flexibility in the development and offer its customers the ability to personalise the connected in-car experience.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Volvo to bring Android into their next generation connected cars,” said Patrick Brady, vice president of Android Engineering at Google. “This partnership gives us the opportunity to deliver a more seamless experience to Volvo drivers through a full-featured infotainment platform and rich ecosystem of Android applications and Google services.”

“With the advent of Android we will embrace a rich ecosystem while keeping our iconic Volvo user interface. We will offer hundreds of popular apps and the best integrated experience in this broad, connected environment,” said Henrik Green.

Volvo is also collaborating with Google on another initiative to update recent Volvo models by adding Google Local Search, a location based service application. This will be released through an update to customers with Sensus Navigation.

    About the Model: Laura Burčikaitė

There is, perhaps, no one better suited to be on the cover of our future-gazing issue than Laura Burčikaitė. Hailing from Lithuania, she possesses a youthfulness with a touch of classic elegance you rarely see these days outside of 35 mm celluloid. But apart from her natural beauty and the way she carries herself, her personality makes her a standout to represent the kind of forward-looking individuals that this month’s issue is for.

At only 19 years, Laura has already been modelling for five years (since she was 14, if one can believe it). She has been travelling for the gig since she was 16 years old.

She arrived in the country a month ago fresh from the Shanghai Fashion Week, and has already been to New York, Milan, Beijing, Taiwan and Brazil before that.

“I’m happy. I mean, it’s not easy to be on your own and taking care of yourself, but everyday you’re learning,” she said on her experience as a jet-setting teenage model. She added that most of her life was in her phone, being able to contact family, and friends who were either back home or modelling elsewhere.

According to Laura, in every country she visited, she found something that she liked, and she is excited to go to more places in the future to experience different cultures and environments. She is currently on a gap year, taking the time to explore her modelling career and the world, having graduated from high school last year.

Apart from travelling, Laura enjoys music, dance, art, and biology, hoping to go to college next year to become a nutritionist (as if she was not interesting enough). She says that she is unsure of what she would want to do in the future, but is hopeful, adding that she would continue to do whichever made her happy.

With a curious mind, a boldness to explore new horizons, and a willingness to embrace change, Laura stands as a personification of her generation’s traits and aspirations, optimistic for the future, but with feet firmly planted in the present.
