As electricity costs continue to rise, smart home technology is increasingly being used not only for convenience but also to help households better understand and manage their energy consumption. Midea’s SmartHome app brings together appliance control, energy monitoring, and automation features in a single platform designed to help users make more informed decisions about their electricity use.
Compatible with Midea smart appliances and selected third-party smart devices, the app combines centralized controls with AI-assisted energy management and scheduling tools that support more efficient everyday operation.
1. Monitor Energy from a Single Dashboard
The app’s Smart Energy Management dashboard provides an overview of household electricity usage through daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
Users can also monitor the power consumption of individual appliances in real time, making it easier to identify devices that consume the most electricity and adjust settings accordingly.
2. Set Monthly Energy Targets
The app includes AI ECOMASTER, which analyzes factors such as weather conditions and appliance usage patterns to optimize compressor and fan performance automatically.
According to Midea, SGS verification indicates that AI ECOMASTER can deliver up to 30% additional energy savings compared with standard inverter operation. Users can also establish monthly consumption goals and allow the system to adjust appliance settings to help remain within those targets.
3. Automate Daily Routines
Through Smart Scenes & Scheduling, appliances can be programmed to operate according to daily routines or preferred schedules.
The app also supports location-based automation. Using a smartphone’s location, users can create a virtual boundary around the home so compatible appliances automatically switch off when everyone leaves, reducing unnecessary energy consumption.
4. Track Consumption in Real Time
The Smart Energy Management dashboard includes budget tracking tools that allow users to set monthly electricity consumption targets based on kilowatt-hours or estimated utility costs.
The app continuously compares real-time usage against these targets and sends notifications when consumption approaches the user-defined limit.
5. Use i-ECO Mode During Extended Operation
For appliances expected to run for extended periods, i-ECO Mode automatically adjusts operating parameters to reduce energy consumption while maintaining comfort.
The feature is particularly useful during periods of prolonged air conditioner use, helping households balance comfort with lower electricity costs.
According to Anna Marie Alejandro, general manager of Concepcion Midea Inc. Philippines, the SmartHome app was designed to provide Filipino households with practical tools that make energy management easier while encouraging long-term savings through everyday automation.
The Midea SmartHome app is available for download from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Compatible smart appliances can be paired with the app via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, allowing users to manage connected devices from a single interface.
