Behind the highlight reels and tournament moments, the Smart Communications-backed esports organization continues to grow Barangay Smart Omega, a community-driven ecosystem built around grassroots gaming, fan engagement, and aspiring esports talent.
Through initiatives ranging from local watch parties to amateur tournaments, Smart Omega has been strengthening its connection with fans while helping create pathways for players hoping to enter the professional esports scene.
Building opportunities through Community Wars
One of Smart Omega’s major grassroots initiatives is Community Wars, a post-MPL PH platform that gives aspiring Mobile Legends: Bang Bang players opportunities to compete in organized matches.
According to the organization, the program has already helped launch teams such as Maru Esports, now known as Dewa United PH, and Code Unknown Quantum Minds, which later evolved into CU X Godz Quantum Minds.
Several participating teams have since progressed to MDL PH, considered one of the key stepping stones toward professional esports competition.
Turning neighborhoods into esports watch parties
Smart Omega has also expanded its Community Watch Parties initiative across districts in Quezon City, allowing fans to gather within their own communities to watch matches together.
The initiative transforms every Smart Omega match into a shared neighborhood experience, reinforcing the sense of community behind Barangay Smart Omega.

Rewarding loyal fans and aspiring players
The organization has also introduced fan-focused activities such as Quest for the Vest, which rewards loyal supporters through badges, exclusive experiences, and bootcamp raids.
Fans also participate online by sharing SuperFan moments and engaging with the team across digital platforms.
For supporters who want to compete themselves, Fansiklaban gives Barangay Smart Omega members the opportunity to represent the community through Mobile Legends: Bang Bang competitions and rankings.
Smart and TNT continue esports support
Backing the community initiatives are Smart and TNT, both long-time supporters of Philippine esports.
