Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo is joining Gran Turismo 7 this October, bringing the futuristic electric concept car from the show floor into an interactive racing experience.
The announcement was made during Round 3 of the Gran Turismo World Series 2026 in Singapore, where Gran Turismo series producer Kazunori Yamauchi and Jean-Arthur Madelaine, head of design at Xiaomi Europe R&D and Design Center at Xiaomi Auto, discussed the development of Xiaomi Vision GT and the evolving experience of electric performance driving.
The collaboration also introduces Gran Turismo’s first EV Driving Experience, featuring dedicated driving challenges and training with the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra and Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo.
XIAOMI BECOMES THE 36TH VISION GRAN TURISMO BRAND
Launched in 2013, the Vision Gran Turismo project invites brands to create original concept cars specifically for the Gran Turismo series. Over the past decade, the program has produced 50 Vision Gran Turismo models, bringing automotive design, engineering, and virtual racing together within the franchise.
Xiaomi becomes the 36th participating brand and the first technology company to join the Vision Gran Turismo project. Xiaomi Vision GT made its global debut at Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona before its physical concept was showcased at Auto China 2026 in Beijing.
Its introduction to Gran Turismo 7 takes the concept from a physical design study into a vehicle that players can experience virtually behind the wheel.
SCULPTED BY THE WIND
Xiaomi Vision GT is shaped around a design philosophy called “Sculpted by the Wind.”
Rather than relying heavily on visibly added aerodynamic elements, the concept uses a suspended teardrop-like cabin, aerodynamically optimized surfaces, and structural elements shaped with airfoil cross-sections.
The design builds on aerodynamic approaches used in production vehicles such as the Xiaomi SU7 and Xiaomi YU7. Its cross-shaped headlights also guide airflow, while the halo-shaped taillight is integrated into the rear air channel.
Together with an active wake-control system, the design achieves an aerodynamic efficiency value of 4.1 and a drag coefficient of 0.29.
THE “SOFA RACER” COCKPIT
Inside, Xiaomi Vision GT introduces what Xiaomi calls the “Sofa Racer” concept, combining a cocoon-like cockpit with an emphasis on comfort, immersion, and driver focus.
The cockpit integrates the Xiaomi Hyper XiaoAi AI Voice Assistant and Xiaomi MiMo foundation model, allowing the system to respond to driver intent while connecting with Xiaomi’s broader “Human × Car × Home” smart ecosystem.
“The overall design maintains its simplicity while revealing an indescribably sleek and incredibly sexy curved aesthetic,” Yamauchi said. “I believe this car will become a role model for this era.”
DEVELOPED FOR SPEED AND STABILITY IN THE GAME
The Vision GT collaboration also gave Xiaomi’s designers the opportunity to translate the physical concept into a digital driving experience.
Madelaine described Xiaomi Vision GT as a futuristic driver’s car engineered to balance low drag and high downforce. Within Gran Turismo 7, the car is designed to maintain high speed while remaining stable, creating a smooth overall driving experience.
Interest in the concept had already been building after its appearances at Mobile World Congress Barcelona and Auto China earlier this year, and its move into Gran Turismo 7 gives racing and gaming enthusiasts the chance to experience it directly.
GRAN TURISMO 7 ADDS ITS FIRST EV DRIVING EXPERIENCE
Alongside the Xiaomi Vision GT launch, Gran Turismo 7 is introducing its first dedicated EV Driving Experience.
The program will feature the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra and Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo in challenges designed to highlight the distinct acceleration, braking, and handling characteristics of high-performance electric vehicles.
Rather than treating EVs simply as another vehicle category, the experience gives players a structured way to explore how electric powertrains change performance characteristics within Gran Turismo 7’s driving environment.
FROM PRODUCTION EV TO VIRTUAL CONCEPT CAR

The collaboration expands Xiaomi Auto’s presence across both production and conceptual performance vehicles.
The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is already joining Gran Turismo 7, while Xiaomi Vision GT becomes part of the Vision Gran Turismo lineup. Both vehicles will also feature in the new EV Driving Experience.
Together, the models connect Xiaomi’s production performance-car development with its more experimental concept design and digital driving experiences.
READY FOR NÜRBURGRING, LE MANS, AND SUZUKA
Gran Turismo 7 players will soon be able to drive Xiaomi Vision GT on several of the series’ iconic circuits, including the Nürburgring, Le Mans, and Suzuka.
The car’s arrival gives players the opportunity to experience a Xiaomi concept originally created as a design and engineering exercise within the virtual environment of one of the world’s best-known racing franchises.
