With the recent launch of the Intel Compute Card at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show, a company named Nex Computer LLC is looking to capitalize on the amount of computing power the Compute Card has with the NexDock. The NexDock takes on the form of a 2-in-1 laptop with two slots: one for the Intel Compute Card module and another one for interchangeable USB-C modules like an extra battery pack, a for-office module, and a standard module. The company is also working on creating a USB-C enclosure for the Raspberry Pi to help create the world’s “most affordable laptop.” The NexDock will be available in mid-2017. Specifications and features will, of course, be dependent on the strength of the Compute Card and which modules are attached.
