Sony has just refreshed their Tablet S, and this time around the company has branded it into their integrated Xperia line and made it thinner and slimmer than last year’s model. The Xperia Tablet S features a Tegra 3 processor, 9.4-inch 1,280 x 800 IPS screen  and a thinner frame, measuring at only 8.89mm at its thinnest point. It still has that trademark book shape, and keeps that IR emitter that was present in last year’s model. A full-size SD slot allows to use..well, full-size SD cards, and there’s a 6,000mAh battery to keep you going through the day. There’s an 8-megapixel camera on tap, as well as a smaller, 1-megapixel  front facing camera. The Xperia Tablet S will ship with Android 4.0 when it becomes available in September, and Sony says that an upgrade to Android 4.1 (Jellybean) will come right after Sony optimizes its custom apps. Speaking of, there’s a couple of Sony apps integrated into the device, which include Watch Now and a couple of social apps that allow you to share what you’re watching with Twitter and Facebook. Sony will be pricing this particular tablet at $400 (Php 16934) for the 16GB model, $500 (Php 21167) for the 32GB and $600 (Php 25401) for the 64GB model. Unfortunately, there’s no word if Sony Philippines will be bringing this particular tablet into our market – if you remember, they skipped the Philippines with the initial roll-out of the Tablet S.
