Epson slowly turns away from laser printers

After shaking the Philippine printing industry with their L-Series genuine ink tank system printers last 2011, Epson was propelled to the top of the country’s inkjet market. Since then, Epson has been taking in customer feedback in order to create better printers that can produce impressive outputs that are more durable and cost-efficient.

Following up on their success, Epson has announced the newest M-series printers, a lineup of alternative monochrome ink tank systems.

“The M-Series is Epson’s superior alternative to the laser printer. It offers laser quality prints, but it’s faster and far more economical,” said Epson Philippines inkjet product manager Russer Cabrera.

Using ink that costs just PHP 565 per bottle, the M-Series is able to produce up to 6,000 pages at 34ppm, 12 times cheaper than and just as fast a laser printer while being more energy efficient.

“Because of the undeniable cost savings that the M-Series provides, we are confident that the discerning Filipino businessman will love and choose the M-Series over alternative laser printers. It’s time to move past traditional technology and embrace what will serve the needs of tomorrow,” added Cabrera.

Recognizing that some customers are not set to make the change, Cabrera assured that Epson will still be selling traditional laser printers. “We give the customers what they’re looking for. Once they’re ready to switch to the more cost efficient option, we will then help them with the M-Series printer perfect for their needs. In the meantime, Epson still has laser printers in their product lines.”
