If you’re a Game of Thrones fan, you’ll be pleased to know that the show is returning for a third season on HBO and HBO HD starting Saturday, April 20, at 9 pm and airing every Saturday afterward. Game of Thrones collected several Emmy awards in 2012, including awards for Outstanding Art Direction (along with fellow HBO show Boardwalk Empire), Outstanding Costumes for a Series, Outstanding Makeup for a Single-Camera Series (Non-Prosthetic), Outstanding Sound Editing for a Series, Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Comedy or Drama Series and Outstanding Special Visual Effects.
At the end of Season Two, the victors of the Battle of Blackwater rebuild King’s Landing, but new challengers for the Iron Throne rise from unexpected places. The demand for family, honor, ambition and survival continues as the Westeros civil war rages into autumn. Season Three begins with the Lannisters holding dominion at King’s Landing.
