As more business relationships and transactions migrate to digital platforms there is a need to find solutions that will protect the safety and privacy of these exchanges.
Ronald “Gonz” Gonzales, an information security specialist, is set to be the resource speaker on Cybersecurity Foundation, a certificate course in providing updates on fundamental concepts of cybersecurity, data protection and privacy, at the The School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPaCE) of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB).
Gonzales’ current practice involves information security and enterprise risk management in the government, banking and finance, sales and distribution, transportation, telecommunications, manufacturing, health care, and development sectors.
He has led numerous projects on vulnerability assessment and penetration testing, digital forensics, security capability improvement, information security audits and policy reviews.
To be held on four Saturdays beginning April 7, 2018, the lectures and demonstrations will educate students on how to apply information assurances on all phases of the information life cycle, know relevant laws and regulations covering cybersecurity and online privacy, identify the risk management process, and use these measures to their own individual and professional needs.
Participants will learn to exercise their knowledge through an examination, group exercises, and the submission of an individual course paper demonstrating cybersecurity application.
Sessions are on Saturdays, April 7, 14, 21 and 28, 2018 from 12 noon to 7:30 p.m.
The course is priced at ₱ P18,850.
