    NEO has announced four new gaming laptops at their event in Makati yesterday. The Elan series is specifically developed to cater to Pinoy gamers and help develop and nurture the Filipino eSports scene. Backed by its technology partners, Intel and Microsoft, along with retail partners such as Octagon, PC Corner and PC Express, NEO has combined Intel’s powerful processors with the Windows 8 operating system. NEO has also partnered with Blizzard Entertainment along with local publisher Level Up! and Mineski. Level Up! is best known for publishing the extremely popular Ragnarok Online locally in 2003. NEO is also a sponsor of Mineski’s StarCraft II team, which is amongst the best in Southeast Asia.

    The Elan series includes the entry-level Elan LD1GL, which comes with an Intel Core i3-3110M dual-core processor which can operate at 2.4 GHz. It also comes equipped with 2 GB of DDR3 RAM (expandable) and has a 14-inch HD panel with a 16:9 aspect ratio which can support up to 1366×768 resolution. It also has an NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M card with 2 GB of DDR3 video RAM that is also compatible with DirectX 11. It comes with a 500 GB hard drive. It also has WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, two USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, an HDMI port, a VGA port, and an Ethernet port. It runs on the Ubuntu Linux operating system. It weighs 2.2 kg and retails for PHP 25,999.

    Next in the Elan series is the LD2KW, which comes with an Intel Core i7-3630QM quad-core CPU which also operates at 2.4 GHz, which can be boosted to 3.4 GHz using Intel’s Turbo Boost technology. It has 8 GB of DDR3 RAM and a 15.6-inch HD panel at 1366×768 resolution. It also comes with an NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M card, which also has 2 GB of DDR3 video RAM and a 1 TB hard drive. It has WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0 port, one HDMI port, one VGA port and an Ethernet port. It weighs 2.6 kg and retails for PHP 35,999 (Linux) or PHP 38,999 (Windows 8).

    The LD5HW has an Intel Core i5-3230M dual-core CPU which operates at 2.6 GHz, but with Intel Turbo Boost technology, it can also be boosted to 3.2 GHz. It also has 8 GB of DDR3 RAM. It has an 11.6-inch HD panel, and can also support 1366×768 resolution. It comes with the NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M card, which has 2 GB of DDR3 video RAM, and comes with a 1 TB hard drive. It also comes with WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0 port, and a 2 megapixel high-definition camera. It weighs 1.8 kg and retails for PHP 34,999 (Linux) or PHP 37,999 (Windows 8).

    The LD7KW comes with an Intel Core i7-3630QM quad-core CPU which operates at 2.4 GHz, but can be boosted to 3.4 GHz with the help of Intel Turbo Boost technology. It also comes with 8 GB of DDR3 RAM, but it is expandable to 16 GB of RAM if you need the additional memory boost. The LD7KW has a 15.6-inch Full HD panel, which means it can support up to 1920×1080 resolution. The LDK7W also comes with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670MX, which is one of NVIDIA’s fastest mobile GPUs. You don’t need to worry about audio quality either—the LD7KW comes with the Onkyo Speaker System, which is defined as high definition audio, and it has two 2W speakers and one 2.5W sub-woofer. It comes with a WASD special gaming keyboard, where users can mix and match the colors on their keyboard’s backlight to their own preference. It comes with WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, and three USB 3.0 ports, and one USB 3.0 port can be used to charge other devices without turning on the device. There are also two USB 2.0 ports, an HDMI port, and DVI-I out, S/PDIF out, and an Ethernet port. It weighs 3.1 kg, and retails for PHP 67,999 (Linux) or PHP 70,999 (Windows 8).
