See the Aurora Borealis from the comfort of your couch with Google Maps

There’s little doubt in our minds that you’ve heard of the beautiful Aurora Boralis before. Nature’s spectacular Northern lights are an amazing sight for anyone who has had the means to go see them. This might not be the easiest thing to do given the proximity of our country from the appropriate patch of sky.

Google wants to take the magic right to you, thanks to technology. Google Maps takes you to the Aurora without having to dress for sub-zero temperatures. Just head over to this link HERE and watch nature put on one of the best shows on earth. Long a source of wonder for people who have had the good fortune of seeing them, the Aurora Borealis is caused by charged particles in the Earth’s upper atmosphere, and can be seen in the northern hemisphere (though an equally striking display can also be seen down south.)

If you want to be blown away by the beauty of nature, hit the link and experience the show for yourself.

Thanks go to  Google Maps Street View Associate Program Manager Magdalena Filak for bringing this awesome new feature to the attention of the world.
