Music streaming in the Philippines is becoming more mainstream. As something that just recently entered the music sector in the country, music streaming has instantly gained widespread popularity, thanks to new and affordable services catered to the masses.

“The app market is dominated by local services such as Saavn in India, TTPod in Indonesia, SPINNR in the Philippines, and Zing MP3 in Vietnam,” the study, which delved on the music markets of four key countries in the region, said.

According to a new research, SPINNR ranked first  among  streaming apps used in the Philippines. It was chosen by 32 percent of respondents, saying they use the service to listen to music on their smartphones.

    Music for everyone

“The ongoing shift to streaming among Filipino music lovers is a welcome sign for the music industry and consumers alike, because it gives a lot more users access to more music tracks currently available in the market,” said Mellissa Limcaoco, Innovation and Product Development Head at Philippine mobile leader Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart).

“Just a few years ago, music streaming was not a familiar concept among most Filipino music lovers. With SPINNR, Smart has paved the way for more fans to affordably enjoy music anytime, anywhere without worrying about the limited storage space on their mobile devices,” Limcaoco added.

SPINNR, is a homegrown music streaming app available to all Smart, Talk ‘N Text, and Sun Cellular subscribers nationwide that offers one-month VIP access for as low as PHP 49 (or PHP 2.50 per day) with no additional data charges and offline music listening access.

    Total music experience

Apart from extending music to everyone, SPINNR also brings the total music experience to users by having the grandest concerts and offering fans the exclusive chance to meet and greet their favorite artists. Among these are giving away hundreds of tickets to the biggest music events to hit the country, including Rihanna’s concert, the Philippine tour of OneRepublic, and the recently concluded 7107 International Music Festival headlined by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. SPINNR is now gearing up to provide subscribers with the same epic music experience at The Red Tour in Manila this June.

SPINNR is offering a 15-day free trial to all first-time users of the service. Simply download the app on your Android or iOS phones to sign up for an account. For more information, visit www.spinnr.ph.
