    The Philippine luxury vehicle segment is yet again being dominated by BMW. The Asian Carmakers Corporation (ACC), BMW’s official importer and distributor in the Philippines, recorded 352 units sold for the year’s first half, amounting to a 36 percent over-all market share. The BMW 3 Series was ACC’s leading model, followed by the popular sports activity vehicle (SAV), the BMW X3; these two contributing to a 6 percent sales increase year-over-year. Worldwide, BMW’s performance soared to a 10.2 percent growth year-to-date.

    BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo

    Alongside this successful half-year for BMW, ACC has its eye set on further establishing its solid position with an aggressive marketing year, starting with the introduction of the BMW 4 Series Coupé. This segment redefining sport coupé stands out with a powerful road presence and dynamic ability. There is also the all-new SAV, the BMW X5, which combines striking designs, comfort, and luxury for an unmatched driving experience. The Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) reported that the X5 is in command of the premium full-size SUV subsegment.

    BMW 5 Series Sedan

    BMW also has other product launches and activities planned for the rest of 2014. Adding to the BMW 4 series line is the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé which combines the stylishness of a sport coupé with the convenience of four doors. ACC also introduced the BMW 5 series which raises the bar for the premium executive sedan segment. Coming in with two design characters (Modern Line and Luxury Line), the 5 Series Sedan and 5 Series Gran Turismo sport unique designs and a host of innovations to provide a luxurious driving experience.

    BMW and the World

    To further drive brand accessibility, ACC held the first ever dealer-based BMW XPO: Pit Stop last June with visitors given the chance to test drive the latest BMW models. Also throughout the month, ACC offered special deals and packages on brand new and certified pre-owned vehicles. Additionally, a raffle was held with 10 lucky winners spoiled with an all-expense paid trip to Singapore to be part of BMW World 2014, Asia’s largest automotive showcase.

    As a technology leader, BMW seeks to promote sustainable mobility and technology in the ASEAN regions. The Philippines was recently visited by Dr. Kay Segler, BMW AG SVP for Special Projects – ASIA and Mr. Sergio Solero, BMW Asia President; the two discussing BMW’s future plans for sustainable mobility and expansion initiatives. With this, the Philippines is promising to be a significant presence in the region’s automotive industry.

    Testament to its leading status in the country’s automotive industry is BMW’s appointment as the official premium vehicle partner of the 23rd World Economic Forum on East Asia (WEF-EA). A fleet of the BMW 7 series served as transportation for Asian heads of state and government leaders during the forum.
