For the first time in Asia, Shell brings the Energy Lab in Manila as one of the main attractions at the Shell Eco-Marathon – which began back in 1939 at a Shell research laboratory in the United States a friendly wager between scientists to see who could get the most miles per gallon from their vehicle.

According to Roberto Kanapi, Vice President for Communications of Shell Philippines, “The Shell Energy Lab highlights Shell’s commitment to educating the younger generations on the importance of sustainability and innovation for the future of energy, technology and mobility. The interactive experiences in The Lab are fun yet informative, which Shell hopes will further inspire youngsters to continue learning about these fascinating topics.”

Visitors’ journey in the Energy Lab starts with the Energy Globe Screening room which will show a short education clip about “The World Now and in 2050.” To this point, the guests will be free to roam around and try different activities to know more about the how the Planet Earth currently works. This includes the Stress Nexus Voting Game, Energy Mix Interactive Are, Energy Generators and so on.

Each guest was given an Energy Lab Pass card which they need to flash through the designated walls of each activity center. At the end of the exhibit, Planet You will prompt the question “What will your world look like in 2050?” and will flash a short info-graphic on how your choices will define the future world.

The Shell Eco-Marathon Asia 2014 is open for walk-in guests from February 7-9. For more information, visit www.shell.com/ecomarathon
