Congratulations, it’s a G!
The Korean electronics company, LG, officially named their forthcoming flagship device as the G2.
The LG G2 will be the pioneer member of the company’s prime brand ‘G’—previously the Optimus series. Optimus smartphones that were already introduced in the market will retain their brand name, while future smartphone releases will take on the name G, carrying on the new branding heraldry.
“Our vision is to make LG’s newest G devices synonymous with excellence, raising the bar even further for the ultimate in user experience,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “The new G2 will build upon the excellent reputation established by previous G Series products.”
Moreover, LG’s line of 4:3 aspect ratio display smartphones will be rebranded as the “Vu” series.
