Twenty-five thousand runners took to EDSA on June 12 and 13 as the Galaxy Manila Marathon 2026 transformed one of Metro Manila’s busiest highways into the route of the country’s first full marathon to traverse EDSA from end to end. Held in partnership with RUNRIO and SM Supermalls, the event marked a milestone for Philippine running while bringing together athletes, fitness enthusiasts, families, and first-time runners across the 5KM, 10KM, 21KM, and 42KM race categories.

Runners brave an intense final stretch as the course transitions into the morning phase, reflecting continued effort across the full EDSA route beyond the run.

His photographs highlight runners, supporters, and the changing cityscape throughout the marathon.

“The Galaxy Manila Marathon is a strong expression of Samsung’s vision for connected wellness, where technology and lifestyle intersect to inspire healthier, more intentional living. This year reflects a growing community that values progress, resilience, and deeper connections,” said Kristine Go, head of mobile experience (MX) at Samsung Electronics Philippines.

Samsung Electronics Philippines Mobile Experience (MX) Head Kristine Go shared talks about the brand’s continued commitment to wellness with Samsung’s Galaxy ecosystem.

“Through Samsung’s Galaxy ecosystem, we aim to enable more seamless wellness journeys that extend beyond race day, supporting how people move, recover, and live with greater purpose every day,” she added.

The event reflected the continued growth of running as a community-driven pursuit of health and wellness, bringing together participants of different experience levels to celebrate endurance, personal achievement, and shared experiences.

Connected Wellness Beyond Race Day

Samsung also highlighted its latest Galaxy wearable lineup during the marathon, including the Galaxy Watch8, Galaxy Watch8 Classic, and Galaxy Watch Ultra. The devices demonstrate the company’s latest approach to fitness tracking, recovery, and everyday wellness.

Among the new features is Running Coach, which delivers adaptive coaching and real-time guidance based on a user’s fitness level, helping runners prepare for goals ranging from a first 5KM to a full marathon.

The watches also feature Energy Score, which provides an overview of physical and mental readiness, while BioActive Sensor technology and Antioxidant Index offer additional health insights beyond traditional fitness tracking. Together with the broader Galaxy ecosystem, Samsung aims to help users train smarter, recover better, and build healthier habits beyond race day.

Building a Running Community

Samsung said the success of the Galaxy Manila Marathon reflects its continued commitment to promoting connected wellness through the Run with Galaxy initiative, which encourages Filipinos to embrace healthier lifestyles through movement and community.

Supported by the Department of Tourism, the marathon features routes certified by World Athletics and the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS), and sanctioned by the Philippine Athletics Track and Field Association (PATAFA).
