Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI) has just announced its notable sales performance in June. A 12 percent year-over-year growth, bringing its tally to 1,928 units sold versus 1,726 units sold the in the previous year. Hyundai managed to increase its sales by 6 percent equivalent to a total of 11,651 units for the first semester of this 2014.
This remarkable performance was driven by their passenger cars (PC), as sales went up by 28% in June to 1,349 units sold compared to 1,051 units sold last year. The best-selling vehicle EON, solidified its staying power as sales for the model jumped by 65 percent. The Accent, on the other hand, registered a 42 percent year-on-year growth to a total of 550 units in June. Delivering unmatched performance on the road, the EON and Accent pushed Hyundai’s first semester PC sales to 7,896 units, up by 21% from 6,546 units sold in the same period last year.
HARI president and CEO, Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo expressed, “Despite a slower economic growth outlook this year, Hyundai is poised to take its steady sales track in full swing for the remainder of the year on the strength of our customer experience standards and modern premium products and services.”
According to HARI, with the Philippines’ steady economy, demand for vehicles will remain significant as demonstrated by the exceptional performance of the automotive industry in the first half of the year. Come the end of 2014, the industry is set to hit double-digit growth on brisk vehicle demand.
