The 9th Manila Auto Show (MIAS) has begun. The country’s largest showcase of automobiles opened yesterday, April 4, and is the place to be for those who have a love affair with anything on four wheels. The event is the largest auto show to date, thanks to the huge floor area at the World Trade Center in Pasay City and a display of over 300 cars, trucks and even buses on show.
The opening day saw major car manufacturers from all over the globe to show off the latest and best they had to offer. All the big names were there, and everyone present was treated to a blinding array of some of the most beautiful vehicles the market has to offer. There were cars built for the dirt, such as Ford’s Wildtrak and Subaru’s Forester, to cars built for the road, like the Mazda 6, Pugeot RCZ and Mini Cooper Paceman, to the versatile Piaggio APE Xtra. There were also presentations by other manufacturers such as BMW, Dong Feng, JMC and MAN/NEOPLAN trucks and buses.
Guests are more than welcome to catch the remaining days of the the MIAS, where they can catch the Car of the year nominees and winners, driving exhibitions, custom car competitions, a photo contest and appearances by their favorite celebrity drivers. The Automotive Association of the Philippines will also be awarding the coveted “Driver of the Year” award today, Friday, April 5.
The Manila International Auto Show is organized by Worldbex Services International, and will be held from April 4 (Thursday) to 7 (Sunday) at the World Trade Center and Philippine Trade Training Center.
