    ss_240264c92facd223ba26c66c28276b4533107274.600x338

Telltale Games has finally announced that the first episode of Season Two of The Walking Dead, “All That Remains”, will make its debut on December 17 for PC and Mac.

The Xbox 360 version of “All That Remains” will arrive the following day, December 18. The release dates for the PS3, PS4, Vita and Xbox One versions have yet to be announced. An iOS version will also be launched, although no release details have been disclosed.

Players who pre-order through Telltale’s online store or through Steam can save 10% off the price of the PC and Mac versions, bringing the price for the season pass down from USD 22.99 to USD 22.49.

First released in 2012, The Walking Dead is an adventure game based on Robert Kirkman’s graphic novel series that involves a decision-making gameplay, where each choice determines how other characters interact with your player as the game progresses. Telltale claims that the decisions that players made in Season One and in the expansion pack, “400 Days“, will affect the how the game plays out for them in Season Two.

A new full-length trailer has been released to give players a sneak peek of what they’ll be up against in the second season and who they’ll be playing as.

In Season Two, players control Clementine, the little 9-year-old girl in Season One. Sure, she’s no Lee Everett, but just because you’re playing a little girl doesn’t mean you get less action and that the zombie-infested world is going to be any kinder.

The All-New Isuzu D-Max impresses with its sturdy performance and excellent fuel economy

    D-Max Silver

The newest iteration of the Isuzu D-MAX goes the extra mile with its fuel efficiency and quality performance.

Isuzu Philippines Corporation’s (IPC) latest product—the All new Isuzu D-MAX, has passed its first fuel consumption test.  Posting an impressive result that sets the benchmark for its segment, it is on its way to cementing itself as a top pickup model in the Philippines.

On November 13, Automobile Association Philippines (AAP) tested the All-New D-MAX LS 4×2 with a manual transmission. It covered a whopping 1,985 kilometers on a single full tank. Meaning on 76 liters of fuel, the all-New D-MAX has logged an astounding 26.12 kilometers per liter of diesel fuel.

What contributed to the All-New D-MAX’s fuel efficiency are its top components and ultimately, Isuzu’s 4JJ1-TC iTEQ 3.0-liter Common Rail Direct Injection with Turbocharger and Intercooler diesel engine. The engine makes 146Ps @ 3,800rpm and 294Nm @ 1,400rpm to 3,400rpm, which is reputed for its reliability, durability and fuel efficiency. Isuzu’s new 4JK1-TC iTEQ 2.5-liter Common Rail Direct Injection with Turbocharger and Intercooler diesel engine, which produces 109Ps @ 3,400rpm and 280Nm from 1,800 to 2,200rpm, is also capable of providing optimum power at reduced fuel consumption.

“The All-New Isuzu D-MAX clearly benefits from Isuzu’s 70-year experience with diesel engines, having produced over 23 million diesel engines to date,” said IPC Executive Vice President Takashi Tomita. “This expertise means that reliability, durability and fuel efficiency hallmark any Isuzu product, and are traits that the All-New D-MAX is already showcasing.”

“That the All-New D-MAX surpassed the already impressive record set by the previous D-MAX makes the feat even more notable. This pickup is truly a workhorse that’s ideal for people who need a vehicle for both business and leisure,” Tomita said.

The All-New D-MAX comes in seven exciting variants; LS 4×4 A/T, LS 4×4 M/T, LS 4×2 A/T, LS 4×2 M/T, LT 4×4 M/T, LT 4×2 M/T and single cab 4×2 M/T. To know more about the All New Isuzu D-MAX read this article.

As 2013 comes to a close, Chevron Philippines Inc. (CPI) ends the year with a celebration of the spirit of volunteerism among its employees and business partners. The company is helping out communities in need through one week of volunteerism called Week of Caring (WOC).

Recently, about 724 Chevron employees and Caltex retailers painted murals alongside children with learning disabilities, played traditional Filipino games with orphans, planted tree seedlings, had healing talks with victims of sexual slavery in WW2, fed abandoned and abused animals, and cleared a turtle sanctuary in San Pascual, Batangas from pollutants.

“We encourage employees to immerse themselves with the disadvantaged members of society while at the same time fostering camaraderie to make them a stronger team. We also involve the other members of the Chevron family such as our Caltex retailers, station locators and branded marketers in social investment projects so that host communities and other stakeholders get to experience the human side of the Caltex brand,” said Raissa Bautista, CPI manager for Policy, Government and Public Affairs.

The Chevron volunteer force logged in 2,876 total hours of volunteer work. The cost benefit for project partners is significant.

CPI has been doing its annual volunteer drive for the past six years. Apart from WOC, the company is also involved in various social investment projects through its Caltex Energy for Learning (EFL) initiative, which backs projects that provide education and livelihood skills to disadvantaged people groups.

Most recently, Chevron companies in the Philippines, Chevron Corporation in the US, as well as Chevron employees contributed a total of PHP 69.5 million in assistance to the relief efforts in communities affected by super typhoon Yolanda.

BanKo and Mercy Corps join together for PH mobile money relief effort

Joining the stream of support, BPI Globe BanKO—the Philippines’ first mobile-based, microfinance-focused bank—has partnered with global humanitarian agency, Mercy Corps, to provide mobile cash transfers to those who are devastated by Typhoon Haiyan.

“As the Philippines’ infrastructure, mobile phone network and markets begin to recover, mobile cash transfers like these are critical to help thousands of people recover from one of the worst storms in our nation’s history,” says Rob I. Nazal, vice president for Community Banking at BanKO. “Together with Mercy Corps, we have conducted small-scale pilots of this approach in Western Visayas and this coming week in North Cebu, and we feel confident that we can move forward rapidly to expand these efforts.”

In the small-scale pilots, beneficiaries received cash transfers electronically through their respective BanKO savings account. Subsequently, Mercy Corps generated electronic reports of the successful transfer of funds to the accounts. With this fast and up to date process, Mercy Corps was able to ensure the security, transparency and efficiency of the cash transfers.

“People are desperate and providing cash in this way ensures families can purchase exactly what they need to get back on their feet,” says Lesley Denyes, Agri-Fin Mobile Program Director for Mercy Corps. “At the same time, we are taking a long-term view of this recovery effort. Thousands of people who have never had a bank account will be able to save money securely for the first time. Moreover, through BanKO, they will have access to affordable financial products, such as small business loans and insurance, which can help even out unexpected financial setbacks in the future.”

Mercy Corps and BanKO have been constantly working together to provide mobile banking solutions to their clients since 2011. Mercy Corps will continue to lead the coordination between other non-governmental organizations that intend to make mobile cash transfers through BanKO to victims of Typhoon Haiyan.

Samsung Built for the Philippines products also cut down on other household concerns such as defrosting. The frost-less RT20FARVDSA Refrigerator makes defrosting a thing of the past, keeping ice buildup from ever being a problem. The fully automatic WA80F5S5 Washing Machine is also just as efficient with its Aqua Preserve function that promotes water saving by recycling and reusing laundry water multiple times. It also features Samsung’s Wobble Technology that keeps clothes from tangling, preserving the most delicate clothes, while giving them a thorough clean. Last on the list is the AR09HVFSBWKNTC Split Type Aircon. This device has smart inverter technology that lets it keep the optimal temperature without having to keep the compressor on constantly. Is Facebook getting a ‘Sympathize’ button?

    Sympathize

Say your friend posts a Facebook status about being depressed or upset about something, like a bad breakup or a dead pet, and you want to let them know that you feel for them without going through the awkward comment-and-response ritual. In other circumstances, you’d hit the Like button, but we both know that it isn’t really the best way to respond to sad statuses.

In its purest sense, hitting the Like button means you ‘like’ what the person is saying—say, you find it funny, inspiring, agreeable or just gosh-darn delightful. Such sentiments are implied if you hit the Like button on someone’s Facebook post, which is why liking a sad status isn’t such a good idea. Sure, you know you mean well. But maybe your friend thinks otherwise.

To get rid of all the awkwardness and the miscommunication, Facebook is reportedly working on a clever alternative: the Sympathize button.

The Sympathize button originated at a Facebook hackathon event. Dan Muriello, a software engineer at Facebook, told The Telegraph that the feature will appear if the user tags a status with certain emotions. Muriello said that it is still in the works and did not provide a timeline for it.

While the simple and obvious solution to show your sympathetic feelings towards bad-news posts is to type “I’m sorry” or “There, there, buddy”, one has to remember that so much is going on in Facebook (and the entire internet for that matter) that sometimes, people only have the time and patience for a single click of a button. Plus, it’s a lot less awkward.

    Acer releases the Aspire V5

    V5-132(2)
Laptops have always been a bit of a bother to carry around. They have a lot of hardware going on, and it can sometimes be a bit of a pain in the back to lug them around. Ultrabooks are universally seen as the answer to this problem, but often come with a price tag inversely proportional to weight. For those who need all the portability of the ultrabook without all the muscle, there is Acer’s Aspire V5. The V5, with its power-efficient Celeron processor clocked at 1GHz gives superb power efficiency, allowing it to get away with a smaller battery without having endurance take a massive hit. 2GB of DDR3 RAM makes light work of everyday tasks, and a little entertainment on the side with a little help from the 11.6 inch, 1366×768 screen. At a thin 19.55mm at the slimmest point, and 1.25kg, this is a laptop you can slip into your work bag and forget. If you’re looking for the perfect balance between price, power and portability, this is the laptop to beat.
