    The Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) proudly announces the launch of the PITX Electric Shuttle Service in partnership with GET Philippines, Inc., the country’s only fully electric passenger transport service company, an eco-friendly and efficient transport solution that aims to provide sustainable and convenient commuting options for passengers traveling between PITX and key destinations within the SM Mall of Asia (MOA) complex.     Initially, three shuttle units will be deployed to serve the route from Friday to Sunday, operating from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.     This 2025 officially marks 89 years since the UP Engineering Radio Guild, or UP ERG, was founded and established as an organization at the University of the Philippines. During these fruitful years, UP ERG has overcome countless challenges, attained countless accomplishments, and most importantly grown into the organization that it is today. 

    UP ERG’s 89th Anniversary Week

    Through UP ERG’s 89th Anniversary, the members come together for a week-long celebration and commemorate the feats of the organization as well as honor its duty of fostering camaraderie. Moreover, this celebration is not without a cause as UP ERG annually partners with the Philippine Red Cross – Quezon City Chapter to organize a blood drive event at the university, a testament to the organization’s aim of promoting students’ welfare and contributing to the country.

    For this year’s theme, UP ERG presents Express: Route 89, On Track for 89 Years and Beyond. This choice of utilizing locomotion as a theme encapsulates the organization’s boundless and steadfast motion in the last 89 years, fueled by the vigor of its members to continue driving forward and achieving greater heights. Not only is this concept incorporated visually speaking, but it is also integrated into the sub-events of the Anniversary Celebration.

    UP ERG’s 89th Anniversary Celebration consists of seven sub-events: Grand Central, Frequency Hub, Chronicle Stop, Hustle Track, Runway to Rails, Horizon Heights, and Existenserum XI.

    Grand Central: Opening Night officially kicks off the week-long anniversary celebration on January 25. It is a night filled with games, entertainment, guest speakers, and an awarding ceremony for outstanding members of the organization.

    Frequency Hub: Radio Seminar is a symposium that tackles the basics of radio operation. It aims to promote amateur radio discipline and honor the origins of UP ERG. Stay tuned as the face-to-face seminar hits the road this January 27.

    Chronicle Stop: Exhibit is a three-day display, from January 28 to January 30, that showcases the fruits of UP ERG’s labors over the last 89 years.

    Hustle Track: Committee Challenges unveils the skills of each of UP ERG’s committees with a series of games and challenges, to commence on February 1.

    Runway to Rails: Mx. ERG 2025 features a fierce battle of wit, talent, and grace of UP ERG’s contestants. See who will take the crown this February 1.

    Horizon Heights: ERG Night, also on February 1, concludes the week-long celebration with performances and entertainment that will make it a night to remember.

    Existenserum XI: Charity Project is UP ERG’s 11th blood drive event, the advocacy behind the anniversary celebration– to be held from February 4 to February 5. With this program, the organization aims to promote initiative among the student body to take part in a cause that gives back to the community, and most importantly, saves countless lives. 

    As the days draw closer to these dates, the members all work together to ensure a smooth operation of UP ERG’s Anniversary Celebration.

    UP ERG only continues to trek forward to reach greater heights as years continue to pass, but its members will always remember to look back on each milestone that shaped the organization into what it is today.

    Pag-IBIG Fund named among top performing government firms for good governance

    Pag-IBIG Fund was recognized as one of the top performing government-owned companies by the Governance Commission of GOCCs (GCG) in an awards ceremony held in Pasay City recently.

    Based on its evaluation systems, the GCG named Pag-IBIG Fund in the Top 10 Government Owned and Controlled Corporations or GOCCs for earning the highest ratings.

    “We are truly honored to be one of the top 10 GOCCs recognized by the GCG. This is yet another testament to Pag-IBIG Fund’s consistently outstanding performance that it is known for. This further inspires us to continue doing our best, as we continue to heed the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. in pursuing excellence in government service so that more of our countrymen can gain better lives through Pag-IBIG Fund’s programs and services,” said Secretary Jose Rizalino L. Acuzar of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), who is also the chairman of the 11-member Pag- IBIG Fund Board of Trustees.

    The GCG Awards were held in November 2024 at the Philippine International Convention Center to recognize GOCCs for their outstanding performance in the Corporate Governance Scorecard and in the Performance Evaluation System or PES for the year 2023. The awarding ceremony was led by GCG chairperson Atty. Marius P. Corpus, commissioners Atty. Brian Keith F. Hosaka and Atty. Geraldine Marie B. Berberabe-Martinez, and other top officials of the said agency.
