The Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) represented a simpler time in video game history, but it spawned some of the most iconic characters and the most vibrant game designs.
For those who grew up with the console or for those who want to catch up and see what the fuss is about, Nintendo will be releasing the NES Classic Edition, a simple plug-and-play console that’s a Mini Me version of the original.
It comes pre-loaded with 30 titles from the ubiquitous Super Mario to forgotten favorites like Excitebike and Tecmo Bowl.
To stay true to the era, Nintendo is including the original NES controller with the console which players can also use for NES Virtual Console games for the Wii U.
For the ever-ironic hipster, Nintendo also added a CRT filter and a 4:3 aspect ratio option so players can enjoy the games like they did back in the day, “scan lines and all.”
The NES Classic Edition ships out November 11 and is available at $59.99 with an extra controller costing $9.99. Get ready to Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right B A Start your way into nostalgia.
