Korean tech giant LG Electronics made an announcement the succeeding mobile devices, they will be releasing will now include the popular feature ‘KnockON‘.
‘KnockON‘ first came out in the award-winning LG G2 line. It is a function that would allow its users to switch their smartphones on and off by just tapping twice on the screen – this would minimize the use of the power button located at the rear of the device for G2 users.
The smart operation of ‘KnockON‘ clicked so well with the market, which pushed the development of a more user-friendly version of the Optimus L Series II LG smartphone. Other LG products such as the LG G Pad 8.3 tablet and LG G Flex curved smartphone are also equipped with ‘KnockON‘.
“‘KnockON’ is distinctively an LG UX [user experience feature] and a great example of what happens when you marry the latest in mobile technology with consumer-centric insights,” said Dr. Jong–seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics’ Mobile Communications Company.
“No one ever thought that a power button needed to be improved until our engineers wondered why they couldn’t turn the entire screen into a power button.” he added.
LG Optimus L Series II smartphone owners can expect a global maintenance release upgrade that includes ‘KnockON‘ starting this February 2014. For more information, visit www.lg.com/ph
