Still reeling from the Note 7 battery issue, Korean electronics conglomerate Samsung warns its US customers that their top-loading washing machines may also explode.
In an official statement made by Samsung, top-loading washing machines manufactured between March 2011 and April 2016 may have defective parts that will cause abnormal vibrations in the cycle and a chance for bits of the washer tub to separate and fly out causing injury or property damage.
Samsung warns people who purchased top-loading washing machines between those dates to use the delicate cycle when washing “bedding, bulky, or water-resistant items” as no complaints have been raised when using this setting.
No specific models have been identified by Samsung to be defective, but created a link so customers could check their washing machines’ serial numbers to see if the products are defective.
No issues have been reported for front-loading washing machines.
