Garmin has introduced the fēnix 9 and fēnix 9 Pro, expanding its flagship multisport GPS smartwatch lineup with new training, navigation, display, and activity features. Both models are aimed at athletes and adventurers who want detailed performance data, long battery life, and tools designed for extended time outdoors.
Among the most notable additions is Garmin Epic, a new feature in Garmin Connect that groups multiple activities into a single shareable story. The new watches also introduce enhanced stamina metrics, improved mapping performance, and expanded training features designed to help users better understand endurance and manage effort over time.
Brighter displays and stronger outdoor capability
The fēnix 9 features an AMOLED display that Garmin says is twice as bright as its predecessor. It also comes with a scratch-resistant sapphire lens, leakproof buttons, and a dive rating of up to 40 meters, giving it added durability for both training and outdoor use.

Users can view health and performance data collected across the selected period, add photos, and share the finished Epic with friends and family. Rucking support has also been expanded. Users can change their pack weight during an activity, follow GORUCK workouts directly on the watch, and set target metrics such as calories burned with up to 100kg of pack weight.
