The multinational technology company Google is set to release a minor Android 8.1 Oreo update. Among its bug fixes include a redesigned hamburger emoji that has been a talk of the town over the Internet.

Apparently, older Android versions has pictured a hamburger with a cheese placed at the beef patties’ bottom part which is technically incorrect. It was only discovered later on when a netizen named Thomas Baekdal saw Google’s odd depiction of the famous American food.

This has been noticed by Google CEO Sundar Pi chai who responded on a tweet.

According to the encyclopedia of emojis, Emojipedia, the food emoji was approved as part of Unicode 6.0 in 2010 and added to Emoji 1.0 in 2015. Revisions for the characters is upon each company’s discretion.

Here’s a comparison of the said emojis that were registered online.

Android users may now expect a nicer and realistic hamburger emoji as the latest Oreo update for various mobile devices roll out very soon.
