Say hello to Tikker, the watch that counts down your life

ArchivesSay hello to Tikker, the watch that counts down your life

slideshow_1Would you wear a watch that counts down your life? I wouldn’t, but apparently, many others would.

Tikker is a “death watch” that counts down your life, just so you can make every second count. It counts down your life from years to seconds, and motivates you to make the right choices. Tikker will be there to remind you to make the most of your life, and most importantly, to be happy.

To determine how much time Tikker wearers have left to live, they simply fill out a personal questionnaire on their health history, subtract their age from the results, and voilà: the countdown begins. Each Tikker watch comes with a questionnaire booklet called “About Time,” which guides users on the process of calculating their lifespan.

Although projecting the day you die seems morbid, Tikker says its purpose is to help users avoid wasting time in their lives.

On the Tikker website, it says, “While death is nonnegotiable, life isn’t. The good news is that life is what you make of it—and it can be beautiful! All we have to do is learn how to cherish the time and the life that we have been given, to honor it, suck the marrow from it, seize the day and follow our hearts. And the best way to do this is to realize that seconds, days and years are passing never to come again. And to make the right choices.”

Tikker aims to move into production with the funds raised from their recently launched Kickstarter. So far, the campaign has raised over $3,000, and will be open to backers until the 1st of November. Those pledging $39 or more will receive a Tikker watch by April.

So, back to my question. Would you wear a Tikker watch?
