While there’s a bevy of thin and light consumer ultrabooks out in the market today, nothing beats a purpose built machine for the corporate world. That’s probably the thinking of Lenovo when they built the ThinkPad X1 Carbon, and now it’s finally here. The ThinkPad X1 Carbon is a purpose built enterprise-grade ultrabook that has been finely crafted from the best materials possible so that it’s capable of taking all the abuse of normal corporate use without slowing down or dying.

To achieve this, Lenovo used a carbon fiber rollcage chassis with the ultrabook, which gives it phenomal strength and durability. Another nice side effect of using this particular exotic material is weight – the ThinkPad X1 Carbon is extremely light, and only comes in at a paltry 3 lbs.

The ThinkPad X1 Carbon has a 14-inch display with a native resolution of 1600×900, not the highest of resolutions we admit, but it’s good enough for corporate users. Lenovo Philippines will be introducing two variants of the X1 Carbon – one with an Intel Core i5-3317U processor, and another with a more powerful Core i7-3667U processor.

Both variants will be paired with 4GB of DDR3 memory. The Intel Core i5 variant will have 128GB of SSD storage on tap, while the Core i7 variant will have a bigger, 256GB SSD. As for battery life, you can expect at least 7 hours of usable battery life from the device, maybe more depending on how you use the device. As is their custom with enterprise machines, Lenovo also included their proprietary enterprise software solutions with the device, so you won’t be in too much of a fix if something breaks down with the device, however unlikely that may be.

Of course, the top-tier specs of the ThinkPad X1 Carbon means that it’ll command a premium price. The Core i5 version of the X1 Carbon will retail for Php 94,990, while the Core i7 variant will come in at a wallet draining Php 116,990.
