The Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) is thrilled to announce its inclusion in Phase 1 of the Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) Cavite Extension, marking a transformative step as the first intermodal hub in the country to integrate road and rail systems. This new development enables seamless connectivity between bus, jeepney, UV express, and rail services, providing thousands of daily commuters with faster, more efficient transit options.
Phase 1 of the LRT-1 Cavite Extension, linking Baclaran to the PITX, represents a landmark step toward enhancing the region’s mass transit infrastructure. With this interconnectivity, commuters will have a convenient transfer point, allowing them to move seamlessly between Metro Manila and southern areas, reducing both travel time and reliance on road-based transport options.
Expanded Route Offerings for Commuters
PITX currently serves as the primary gateway for routes across Metro Manila, Cavite, Batangas, Laguna, Bicol, Baguio, and Davao with connections to over 100 destinations. The intermodal hub offers diverse routes that accommodate various commuting needs:
Recently Opened Long Haul Routes: Destinations now include, San Carlos City and Dagupan City (Pangasinan), Tuguegarao (Cagayan), San Jose (Antique), Pintuyan (Southern Leyte).
These expanded routes, including popular destinations like Baguio City and other long-haul provincial connections, allow PITX to better serve a diverse range of commuters. The integration with the LRT-1 will enable passengers to transfer smoothly between PITX’s vast bus network and the newly added rail system, improving transit access to and from Metro Manila and neighboring regions.
