Isla LPG Corporation has launched Isla EDGE, its dedicated training arm focused on developing competent, safety-conscious, and qualified LPG practitioners.
The launch follows the Department of Energy’s recognition of Isla LPG Corporation as one of the country’s LPG Training Organizations, giving the company a formal platform for strengthening practitioner skills across handling, operations, distribution, sales, and regulatory compliance.
Training for a widely used household fuel
LPG remains a major part of everyday energy use in the Philippines. Data from the Philippine Statistics Authority’s 2020 Census of Population and Housing showed that 47.9% of Philippine households used LPG as their cooking fuel, making it the country’s most commonly used cooking fuel at the time.
That scale makes proper handling, storage, transport, distribution, and sale particularly important for consumers, workers, businesses, and communities. The Department of Energy also projects long-term growth in household LPG requirements under the Philippine Energy Plan 2023–2050, while Republic Act No. 11592, or the LPG Industry Regulation Act, reinforces requirements around safety, accountability, industry regulation, and consumer protection.
Building skills across the LPG value chain
Isla EDGE will focus on developing LPG retailers, dealers, and other practitioners through structured training and continuous learning.
Its programs are intended to strengthen competencies from safe handling and daily operations to responsible distribution, sales practices, and regulatory compliance. The wider objective is to build a more capable workforce that can identify risks, follow standards, and make better decisions throughout the LPG value chain.

Properly trained practitioners are better positioned to maintain safety and quality while reducing avoidable risks throughout day-to-day operations.
This training approach complements other Isla LPG initiatives aimed at making LPG use more accessible and accountable, including the ability for consumers to exchange LPG tanks across brands through the Solane network.

The DOE recognition gives Isla EDGE a more formal role in developing practitioner capability within the sector.
For Isla LPG, the program is intended to help make training, safety, sustainability, and professional standards part of everyday industry practice rather than isolated compliance requirements.
