Autostrada Motore Inc. has just announced the local availability of the V8 Twin turbo Quattroporte, which is now the fastest four-door Maserati to date. The new Maserati flagship has been updated to be lighter, larger and more luxurious than ever before, while becoming more practical than the already acclaimed car that it replaces.
“The sixth-generation Quattroporte not only sets high technology standards, but also remains faithful to Maserati’s long history in luxury sports sedans,” Gaetano Marino, regional director of Maserati for South East Asia said.
The direct-injection engine boasts an all-new 3.8-liter V8 twin turbo designed by Maserati Powertrain and assembled by Ferrari at Maranello. It is capable of rocketing this real-wheel drive car to 100km/h in 4.7 seconds, and gives the driver a top speed of 307km/h. The V8 Quattroporte has also lowered both fuel consumption and emissions by 20 percent against the previous model.
The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission that is 4kg lighter than the six-speed version of the older Quattroporte. The hydraulic gearbox is assisted by an auto-adaptive-adaptive software, with five operating modes selected via buttons by the gear lever. The modes, ranging from Auto Normal, Auto Sport, Manual Normal, Manual Sport and I.C.E., or Increased Control Efficiency.
