The selection process to determine the 2013-2014 Philippine Car of the Year begins anew with the formalization of the partnership between Car Awards Group, Incorporated, the country’s premier automotive award-giving body, and Filinvest Alabang, Incorporated, this year’s venue partner for the P-COTY Test Fest.
“We are delighted to conduct the 2013-2014 P-COTY Test Fest at Filinvest City Alabang,” says Bam Olivares, CAGI Vice-President for Internal Affairs. He adds, “Because of its proximity to Metro Manila and the excellent facilities and road network available in Filinvest City Alabang, we have the perfect venue that approximates real world urban driving conditions that will aid us in testing this year’s batch of new cars.”
The Filinvest Tent will be home to the P-COTY Launch Ceremonies on October 1 and the Test Fest from November 4 to 6, 2013. “Filinvest City Alabang welcomes CAGI as it conducts its extensive car testing determine this year’s P-COTY winner,” states Rose Nuqui, Group Head for Marketing, Exhibits & Conventions of Filinvest City Alabang. She further shares, “The Filinvest Tent will provide CAGI a versatile facility that will make their launch and testing activities as seamless and efficient as possible.”
Now celebrating its tenth year of providing consumers an educated choice for their automotive purchases, CAGI will once again undertake extensive Qualitative and Quantitative testing procedures to determine the best cars currently available in the market. Around forty newly launched and updated cars are included in the search for this year’s coveted title. As in previous P-COTY searches, category winners will be decided, based on the CAGI members’ scoring and the technical testing results. From this list, the Philippine Car of the Year will be selected.
Composed of about 60 motoring editors and journalists from the country’s major dailies, glossies, radio and television programs, as well as online portals, CAGI’s roster of the automotive industry’s top scribes ensure a broad coverage of the consumer’s needs and wants. The P-COTY awarding ceremonies will be held early next year once all the scores and evaluations have been tabulated.
