These marshmallow-colored instant film cameras have been on display in photography shops for some time now, but only today did Fujifilm Philippines officially launch the Instax Mini 8, along with the announcement of the company’s efforts to promote the product more aggressively.
Christian Jamolod, Fujifilm Philippines Digital Camera Head, announced that this year, Fujifilm Philippines has decided to utilize various advertising and marketing channels to promote the Instax Mini 8. This includes billboard ads, a tie-up with Sanrio and different clothing brands, and a segment in the Magic 89.9 radio program Boys’ Night Out.
Jamolod also discussed that Fujifilm Philippines will be conducting a series of parties for students called the Epic Color Party, where students from participating schools can choose to attend one of five parties. Each party differs in theme, depending on the Instax Mini 8 color variant it represents. Participating schools include St. Paul schools, the Ateneo de Manila University, Miriam College, Claret School of Quezon City, Xavier School, La Salle Greenhills, Brent School International, Colegio de San Agustin, Immaculate Conception Acedemy, Saint Pedro Poveda, Sacred Heart High School in Cebu, and University of Santo Tomas High School.
