According to a report by European gaming news portal Eurogamer, multiple industry source have informed them that the PC edition of the seven-world-record-breaking Grand Theft Auto V will come out in Q1 of 2014.

Previously, GTA 4 was launched in April 2008 for Xbox 360 and PS3, and was made available for PC in December of the same year—that’s an eight-month gap. If GTA V for PC launches within the first three months of 2014, it will only be within a 5-7 month period following its initial release in September.

Rockstar Games, the publisher of the Grand Theft Auto franchise, was unable to provide Eurogamer with a comment and instead pointed them to the “Asked and Answered” section of their website, Newswire, that was published in July. Within that section, one will find the following statement:

“We don’t have anything to share about the possibility of a next-gen or a PC platform release at this time and we are completely focused on delivering the best possible experience for the consoles people have right now.”

While this has yet to be confirmed, gamers worldwide are overly excited about trying out the PC version of GTA V that they even put up a petition on Change.org. The petition aims to get 1 million signatures in order to get Rockstar’s attention, but as of press, it needs 398,758 more signatures to be able to reach its goal.
