Hard Disk Drive
Why should the drive containing data you rarely touch—but can’t afford to delete—use up as much power as your regular storage hub? The engineers over at WD have been asking themselves the same question and they’ve come up with the WD Re+ as the answer. It features the lowest power consumption-to-storage ratio of 6 watts per 6TB so the total cost of ownership needn’t be higher than it should be. Other archiving features of the Re+, including vibration protection, dual actuators, multi-axis shock sensor, NoTouch ramp load, and dynamic fly height technology, ensure the drive can meet its 550TB per year workload and 1.2-million hours mean time to failure ratings.
