Ford Philippines has set a record March as it saw a 40 percent growth in sales volume year-over-year to 1,877 units. The best-ever March was again headed by the Ranger, Fiesta, and Ford’s SUVs. The month also saw Ford closing its all-time best first quarter with sales improving 43 percent year-over-year to 5,273 vehicles.
“Our momentum in the first quarter is being driven by our full lineup of global Ford vehicles that is allowing us to become a brand of choice for Filipinos,” said Kay Hart, managing director of Ford Philippines. “We continue to make progress on our One Ford plan, and together with our dealer partners we remain firmly committed to providing the very best customer and ownership experience.”
The EcoSport urban SUV nabbed 763 sales, its best monthly performance since its Philippine launch a year ago. It managed to deliver 2,157 sales during the first three months of the year, making it Ford’s best-selling first quarter nameplate.
The 2014-2015 Truck of the Year, Ford Ranger, carried its momentum through March with sales rising 41 percent year-over-year to 792 units. First quarter sales increased by 27 percent to 2,058 units as the nameplate’s 13 variants continue to see demand.
Meanwhile, the 1.0L EcoBoost engine-equipped Ford Fiesta contributed 132 vehicles to the overall March figure; the Explorer and Escape with 80 each; and the Everest with 56.
With the satisfying first quarter performance, Ford remains on track with its dealership expansion plans this 2015. It aims to establish its presence to 40 locations before the year ends, including opening a hub in Malolos, Bulacan next month.
The dealer expansion is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to further enhance its customer and ownership experience to support Ford’s rapidly growing customer base across the country.
