Earlier this week at the Annex at SM North EDSA, Canon launched a fresh line-up of multifunctional office printers: the MX927, MX527, MX457, MX397, and the Ink Efficient E610.
All new printer models can not only print, but also scan, copy and fax. Aside from these primary functions, these printers are packed with miscellaneous features that aim to enhance the productivity in the work place or in one’s home office. One of which is a fully integrated automatic document feeder (ADF)—found in all the printer models in the new line-up—that can automatically print, scan and copy up to 30 pages in one push of a button.
In fax mode, all models are equipped with a security feature that asks users to enter the fax number twice to ensure that the document is being sent to the correct recipient. Also adding another layer of protection to confidential files is a feature that lets users create password-protected PDF documents.

Three of these models, namely: the PIXMA MX397, MX527 and MX457, have wireless printing capabilities. Using Google Cloud Print and Apple Airprint, users can print files directly from their smartphones and tablets on these PIXMA models via Wi-Fi. Except for the MX457, these printers gives users access to the PIXMA Cloud Link— a wireless connectivity feature which enables users to print photos directly from selected online albums and have access to printable online templates.

Targeting those who need to print in large volumes, the PIXMA Ink Efficient E610 is a model which requires less cartridge replacements than other lower-capacity printers as it allows users to print up to 800 pages per black cartridge and 400 per colored cartridge. The Ink Efficient E610 features a FastFront design wherein in the ink tank is placed at the front panel of the device for easy access when cartridges need to be checked or replaced.

The PIXMA MX927 features more advanced functionality compared to the other printers in the line-up. It has a Double Front Paper Cassette that lets users load two different sizes of paper at the same time without having to tweak printing properties. It is also able to print up to 35 pages at a time and has an auto-duplex function for printing, scanning and copying. The Direct Disc Print function in the MX927 allows users to print directly onto a printable CD, DVD, or Blu-ray disc.

Together with the MX527, the MX927 hosts a Dual Function Panel in addition to the LCD screen. This panel allows users to adjust the buttons on the menu depending on a certain situation. For example, when in print mode, certain buttons may serve as navigation keys, but in fax mode, they may be used as number keys.
The new PIXMA printers are equipped with new programs that help users design, enhance, and organize photos and documents. Canon’s My Image Garden software, for instance, not only helps you sort scanned photos and documents, but also enhances the color of faded photographs. The Print Your Days software, meanwhile, helps users assemble photo collages with an array of layout templates and background patterns to choose from.
All the new printer models utilize Canon’s signature Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering (FINE).
