On-demand service provider app MyKuya has announced that they are partnering with Robinson Malls and other large retailers. With the partnership, Kuyas and Ates (the app’s partner talents) can now pick-up items from Robinsons Malls, Robinsons Supermarket, and Mini-Stop convenience stores for the app users. A new feature, Personal Shopper, lets users buy items remotely from the department store through a personal shopper they can hire on the app.
MyKuya founder Shahab Shabibi announced that they are partnering with other retail giants such as SM Supermalls and Ayala Malls to expand the service. These partnerships will help introduce the benefits of a digital platform to new users, and present an opportunity for partner retailers to get a leg up in the digital space.
“The high demand for MyKuya’s services has been really promising for the business case of utilizing digital platforms,” said Shabibi. “We want our partners to be able to tap into its potential as well. Brick-and-mortar retailers need to rapidly meet the demands of the online economy and we provide a solution to move them into digital in a matter of hours, instead of months.”
Shabibi also shared the progress of MyKuya during the pandemic, noting increases in app usage and partners. The company reported that they now have over a hundred partner retailers and businesses including the retail giants earlier mentioned.
“It has always been one of MyKuya’s goals to help other businesses find their place online,” adds Shabibi. “With the app, our partner retailers can continue business in the digital space and help their ventures into a mobile-first market develop. And for others, it’s a real opportunity for a strong start.”
The partnerships are just the beginning with more services slated to be available in the coming months. With the onset of the pandemic, Shabibi observed that the app’s messengerial service and grocery buyer service were the most sought after services with a 98.6 percent customer satisfaction rating.
To-date, MyKuya already has more than 100,000 users, more than 50,000 of whom signed up during the enhanced community quarantine. The app also has more than 10,000 Kuyas and Ates registered and ready for service. A thousand of these signed up during the first 45 minutes of their online job fair.
