HUAWEI has introduced the HUAWEI WATCH Kids X1, a smartwatch designed to help children stay connected with their families while giving parents tools to monitor their safety and well-being. The device will be available in the Philippines starting June 30, with an introductory price of PHP13,999.
Real-time location tracking for added peace of mind
The HUAWEI WATCH Kids X1 places a strong emphasis on location tracking through HUAWEI’s self-developed network-based positioning service. It supports GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS, Galileo, and QZSS positioning systems, while Dual-band GNSS and Dual-band Wi-Fi help improve location accuracy in both outdoor and indoor environments. Parents can monitor their child’s location in near real time through the HUAWEI FamCare app.
The smartwatch also allows parents to create customizable safe and restricted zones and send alerts when a child enters or approaches designated areas. A School Guard feature automatically notifies parents when children arrive at or leave school and home.
Family-focused safety features
The HUAWEI FamCare app extends the watch’s parental controls by allowing parents to manage contacts, review usage time, monitor battery status, and receive charging reminders from a single interface. Other features include nighttime usage controls, automatic blocking of unknown callers, and a Class Mode that limits distractions during school hours while still allowing emergency calls.
The WATCH Kids X1 also incorporates wellness monitoring through a PPG optical heart rate sensor. Parents can review heart rate trends and emotional indicators through the FamCare app’s Growth section, while HUAWEI notes that these readings are intended for reference only and not for medical use.
The watch’s Converged Positioning Algorithm 2.0 uses AI-assisted self-learning to improve location accuracy over time by recognizing frequently visited places. Children can also monitor their daily activity through step tracking and interact with friends using leaderboards and encouragement features.
For communication, the smartwatch supports HD video calls with AI-assisted noise reduction to help improve voice clarity in noisy environments. It also offers global 2G, 3G, and 4G connectivity for approved contacts. In emergencies, pressing the side button five times activates an SOS alert that automatically contacts family members in sequence.
Built for creativity
Beyond safety features, the WATCH Kids X1 is designed to encourage creativity. It is available in Breezy Blue and Candy Pink, paired with a breathable silicone strap and an industry-first 1.82-inch horizontal AMOLED display designed for children’s wrists. Its watch body can be flipped upright and rotated up to 360 degrees, making it easier to frame photos and videos from different angles.
Photography is supported by a 5MP ultra-wide front camera and a 13MP rear camera, complemented by multi-frame noise reduction and Night Mode. The standard version includes 32GB of storage, allowing users to save photos and share them using One-Tap Photo Sharing. Personalization options include 40 official watch faces, more than 100 stickers, kid-friendly filters, and photo styles.
Everyday durability and battery life
The WATCH Kids X1 also introduces social features such as Shake to Add Friends, which enables children to connect with nearby HUAWEI WATCH Kids users, subject to parental approval through the FamCare app.
With IPX8 and IPX9 (2 ATM) water resistance, the smartwatch is designed to handle everyday activities, including swimming. An 850 mAh battery provides up to 32 hours of battery life, while fast charging can replenish it to 50% in about 20 minutes under laboratory conditions.

The HUAWEI WATCH Kids X1 is available at HUAWEI Experience Stores nationwide, the HUAWEI Online Store, and HUAWEI’s official stores on Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop.
