Canon Marketing (Philippines) Inc. (CMPI) recently held the national leg of the biggest photography event in the country, the PhotoMarathon. On the 8th of November, the event gathered 2,000 photography enthusiasts and professionals at the Bonifacio Global City to showcase the talent and creativity of Filipinos.

In being the biggest photography festival in the country, we hope that this Canon PhotoMarathon help stretch the creativity of all the participants and brings out the best in them in terms of photography and expressing themselves visually.” With the participants’ eyes set on capturing the perfect photo, Lim Kok Hin, president and CEO of CMPI added, “If you want to preserve the moment, create a work of art, nothing beats using a real camera.”

The themes were “Circular, Peaceful, and Fashion”, and “Cross, Cityscape, and Exciting.” With the aforementioned themes announced on the spot, participants were pushed to explore the depths of their creativity and produce an output worth the admiration. The entries were judged by Canon’s crusaders of light.

Out of thousands of participants, Christian Sangoyo bagged the grand prize for the point-and-shoot category. He took home a Canon EOS 700D, dual arm Fotocrane, camera strap, 32 GB WiFi SD card, and one international round trip from Cebu Pacific. For the category Digital Cameras with Interchangeable Lens, Jerome Duenas claimed the top spot with his winning shot. He will be the first in the country to own the latest Canon EOS 7D Mark II.
