Ayala-led Automobile Central Enterprise, Inc (ACEI), the official distributors of Volkwagen in the Philippines, has announced they will be opening their first dealership in Philippines on September 27, 2013. Located in Bonifacio Global City, the showroom will be the first of three dealerships scheduled to open in the coming twelve months.
In a round table discussion held today, Mr. John Philip S. Orbeta, Chairman and President of Ayala Automotive disclosed that they will initially be bringing in five VB nameplates — the Jetta, Polo Sedan, Touran, Tiguan and Touareg, with the iconic Beetle following once sourcing issues are cleared up. An interesting detail to note is that all their initial units will be diesel variants powered by Turbo Direct Injection (TDI) engines.
