Just this week, Microsoft announced the global availability of the update to the Windows 8 operating system,Windows 8.1. The company has listened to customer feedback and included a few major UI changes to make the Windows experience even better. Increased customization options, an even better implementation of multitasking, more tile sizes and additional apps out of the box all come together to make this the best Windows ever.

Starting 17 October, customers running Windows 8 devices can head over to the Windows store from their device, download, and apply the download. More than 230 markets across 37 languages will be able to enjoy the update. The new version of Windows will also start coming bundled with new devices from October 18.

“With Windows 8, we introduced innovation for an era of highly mobile, touch-enabled and always-connected computing,” said Mae Moreno, Windows Client Business Lead at Microsoft Philippines. “Windows 8.1 evolves this vision and brings together everything peole do across their devices whether at home, at work, or on the go. Windows is delivering the most personal computing experience out there, making your device a unique extension of you and offering more ways to create an experience that is personal, expressive and keeps pace with your life.”

Along with the other changes, users who have had problems adjusting to the new interface will be pleased to find the return of the Start button, adding a little bit more familiarity to the Windows ecosystem. Search has also been unified, letting you search everything, and we mean everything, from the same search box.

It also gives you the same SkyDrive cloud integration, rich application store and smooth user experience people have come to expect from Windows. If you’re on a Windows 8 machine, head over to the download at the Windows store. You won’t regret it.
