In observance of National Cancer Survivor Day, AXA Philippines has released the third short film in its Everyday Protectors campaign, encouraging Filipino families to prepare for health challenges before they become crises.

The film explores how serious illness can affect not only an individual’s health but also a family’s future, reinforcing the importance of planning for the unexpected.

A Parent’s Story

Preparing for a child often begins long before birth, from setting up the nursery to buying everyday essentials. But one question is often overlooked: What happens when the parent who cares for the family suddenly needs care as well?

The campaign draws attention to a sobering reality. According to the Philippine Statistics Authority, neoplasms, including various forms of cancer, remain the country’s second leading cause of death. Many cases are diagnosed only after the disease has already progressed, limiting opportunities for early treatment.

AXA’s latest short film tells the story of Lina, a mother who receives a cancer diagnosis on the same day her daughter is born. Faced with uncertainty, she remains determined to be present for the milestones that define parenthood, from first steps to birthdays and the everyday moments that matter most.

Rather than focusing solely on illness, the film highlights the resilience of parents and the importance of ensuring they have support when facing life’s most difficult challenges.

Supporting Families Through Health Protection

Alongside the campaign, AXA highlighted its portfolio of health insurance solutions designed to help reduce the financial burden associated with serious illness.

These include Global Health Access (GHA) for international medical care, Health Care Access for comprehensive medical coverage with cashless access to healthcare providers nationwide, and Health Max Elite, which provides critical illness coverage from early to late stages across more than 150 conditions.

AXA also continues to enhance the Emma by AXA mobile app, enabling policyholders to manage their insurance, submit reimbursement requests, track claims, and access mental wellness services through Mind You.

Encouraging Early Preparedness

Through the latest installment of the Everyday Protectors campaign, AXA Philippines underscores that preparing for the future involves more than financial planning. Early health protection can help families focus on recovery and spending time together when it matters most.
