Michelin Philippines officially launched the LTX Force, its new line of tires for SUVs and light trucks last September 19 in Mandaluyong.
Illustrated by its tagline “Whatever the Terrain, One Tire Handles It,” the LTX Force line combines on-road and off-road capabilities in a multi-purpose tire perfect for the Philippines.
“On a global scale, the SUV tire segment is growing larger in strategic importance. Over the past two years, it has outgrown the passenger car tire segment, and will continue to do so for the next five years. Our target drivers are people whose lifestyle, location or profession demand driving on and off-road, and need the best experience on both type of terrain. So the launch of Michelin LTX Force reinforces our commitment not only to fulfill the needs and expectations of our customers with multiple exceptional performances, but also to respond to ever-changing market conditions in order to remain at the forefront of the industry,” said Michelin Philippines Chief Representative Michael Nunag.
The LTX Force line of tires adopts technologies developed for the World Rally Championship (WRC), one of the world’s most grueling races, and combines it with Michelin’s renowned on-road tire lines.
Its CompacTread technology reinforces the gaps between tread blocks which lessens deformation when in motion, effectively increasing the contact area at all times especially for on-road instances. For a quieter ride, the BevelTread technology rounds out the edges of the tire, which cuts out noise frequencies sensitive to the ears. The CushionGuard technology on the other hand, absorbs road imperfections for an even smoother ride.
Its off-road technologies enable SUVs and pickup trucks equipped with the LTX Force to handle different types of terrain for casual off-roaders. The extended sidewall biting edge improves the sidewall’s cut-chip resistance, while the deep and open shoulder design strengthens its off-road traction.
