Epson Philippines, in its continuing goal to contribute to local business, while remaining as green as possible, recently won two awards at the Second Zero Basura Olympics, held at the Bayleaf Hotel in Intramuros.
The Zero Basura Olympics (ZBO) for Business is an event held once every two years, and recognizes innovative corporate projects aimed at solid waste management. Event was aimed to more quickly move forward the Slid Waste Management Act of 2000.
Though this was the first year Epson Philippines joined the ZBO, it was hailed as the sole champion in the Residual Waste Management Category. Epson Philippines was also one of seven companies what received the Grand Master award: the penultimate prize for the competition.
Epson Precision Philippines Inc (EPPI) Environmental Manager, Joyce Tan, expressed her pride at the company winning the award. “It was truly rewarding how the efforts that we made to improve EPPI’s solid waste management system was recognized, however, this is just the beginning, since we need to improve more in the composting category if we are able to achieve the Super Grand Master award in 2014.
